Welcome to The Rio Rancho New Horizon Band

Founded in 2008 by Christine Sargent, the New Horizons Band of Rio Rancho offers older adults a chance to reconnect with music—whether they have previous experience or are complete beginners. Christine, a retired Physical Therapist, recognized the health benefits of playing an instrument, including improved brain function and social engagement.

After partnering with the New Horizons International Music Association, the band found its home at Vista Grande Active Adult Community. With support from dedicated directors, including Ron Lipka, Frank Rivera, Bob Bailey and currently Mark Goodrum, Ralph Harris, Betsy Van Dyke and Albert Turriciano the band has grown to nearly 60 musicians, providing a fun and relaxed atmosphere for making music together. The motto for the New Horizon organization is " Your Best Is Good Enough."

The band welcomes new members and offers various concerts, promoting the joy of music. Join us and experience the love of music in a supportive environment
